The village of Gniewino with its tourism and recreation complex Kaszubskie Oko (Kashubian Eye) is located 22 km Northwest of Wejherowo. On a 113 metres high hill a 44 m high steel lookout tower was built, located right next to the water reservoir belonging to the Żarnowiec pumped storage power plant.
The lookout tower is named after Pope John Paul II. 212 steps bring you on a 36 m high observation deck, from which the Żarnowieckie Lake, the moraines and even the Baltic Sea can be seen. The round tower roof, the tower hill and the flower beds reminds of an eye, that’s why the complex is called the Kashubian Eye.
At the foot of the Kashubian eye, you will find many attractions: a minigolf course (with 18 positions), a chess field, a pirate ship playground, a small climbing park, a climbing wall, dinosaur models from the Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex, as well as Kashubian giants.
