In Grabowiec, 3 km north-east of Szemud, the monastery of the ” The Monastic Family of Bethlehem, of the Assumption of the Virgin and of Saint Bruno” is located. It is the only community of this order in Poland. The first monastic sisters arrived here in 1998.
The Sisters of Bethlehem live in solitude, through liturgical life, study, work and poverty. Perpetual prayer and manual labour determine the daily rhythm of their live. The sisters create icons, rosaries, medallions and sacred sculptures, ornate ceramic, copy sacred texts and also work in the garden. Each activity is a song of praise to the Lord.
You can participate in the Holy Mass in Grabowiec on Sundays at 9:00. Visit the exhibition of artworks every day by request between 11:00 and 17:00, except Sundays.
